Davis Bros began in 1946 when Glenn Davis purchased his first bulldozer from the US Government Department of Commerce – War Assets Administration.

Glenn had recently been Honorably Discharged from the United States Navy – so as a veteran, he was able to purchase this International Harvester TD14 bulldozer along with 3 boxes of spare parts for $3,341.25 on May 1st 1946.

Glenn’s older brother – Elmo Davis joined him in starting this new business in 1946.

Elmo’s oldest son – Dick Davis joined them in 1957. Davis Bros was well known in the Minonk, IL area for excavation work as well as tiling and farm drainage.
